Þórsmörk Hiking Package (private room)

Description

Þórsmörk (Thorsmork) nature reserve is a hiker’s paradise. It’s  located between three glaciers: Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and  Tindfjallajökull. It’s the favorite hiking area of many Icelanders.  Þórsmörk is named after the Norse god Thor (Þór). It’s as beautiful as  it is mysterious. Expect remote and dramatic wilderness with spectacular  scenery.

The night before the hike you will stay at Midgard Base Camp. During  the evening the guide will gather the group for a briefing. The next day  after breakfast the group is driven into Þórsmörk. We will decide on  the exact route depending on conditions. Possible routes include:  Tindfjallahringur, Rjúpnafell, Valahnjúkur, Útigönguhöfði, Hvannárgil  eða Réttarfell.

A hamburger barbecue and cold beer/soda will await the group after  the hike. The group is then driven back to Midgard Base Camp where you  can relax tired muscles in the rooftop hot tub and then continue  celebrating at the bar. When ready you enjoy another good night’s sleep  at Midgard Base Camp.

Hike info: distance: 8-12 km; elevation 400m; hike 6-8hrs; total trip 8-10hrs.

For whom is this trip?

This hike is for anyone who wants to experience hiking in Þórsmörk  (Thorsmork) nature reserve, Iceland’s most popular hiking area. We will  make sure that the pace suits all levels, beginners and more experienced  hikers. This hike is 8-12 km.
