The Family Fun Rafting journey launches from the striking Brúarhlöð canyon, where ancient basalt walls frame the milky turquoise waters of the Hvítá, a glacial river born from the mighty Langjökull glacier and the very source that feeds the legendary Gullfoss waterfall.
This 4 kilometre float has been thoughtfully crafted for children aged 8 to 10, beginning further downstream where the rapids turn playful and the currents grow kind. Expert guides lead your small group through friendly waves, weaving in games and splashing while the canyon reveals perspectives few travellers ever witness. Should any adults crave a bit more adventure, they can join the full River Fun Rafting tour upstream and reunite with the family at Brúarhlöð.
No previous rafting experience is necessary. You will be outfitted with everything needed for comfort and safety: wetsuit, life jacket, neoprene shoes, helmet and paddle. After your time on the water, a hot sauna and shower await at Drumbó River Base, washing away the chill of the glacier river and sealing the memory of an afternoon spent laughing through Iceland’s liquid wilderness.
