Those that don't have good sea-legs, we will offer an optional tour on land, driving high up into the mountain above Vestmanna. Up there you will see Dams and Windmills suppying electricity to a good portion of Streymoy, as well as beautiful vistas and valleys.
On the return to Vestmanna, the group will enjoy a light lunch in the Vestmanna Tourist Center.
From Vestmanna you will drive across the island and up the Eastern side through the longest Valley in the Faroes. At the end of this Valley you will arrive at the village of Saksun. Saksun offers one of the most spectacular sceneries in the Faroes, a beautiful Lagoon surrounded by high mountains with Waterfalls. There is also the second oldest Church in the Country and a 16th Century Farmhouse.
Back on the road you will pass the villages of Hvalvík and Streymnes on your way to the remote village of Tjørnuvík. Tjørnuvík is one of the oldest settlements in the Faroes. Old graves found there in the 1950's date back to the 9th Century. The view there is gorgeous and you can also see the Sea Stacks the Giant and the Witch, relating to an old Faroese Folktale. Tjørnuvík is the prime location in the Faroes for Surfing activity.
On the way back to Tórshavn you will stop to see the highest Waterfall in the Country, the 140 metre high Fossá.
