Private Northern Lights Tour Wake Up

It's hard to describe the feeling when you watch the Northern Lights dancing in the sky. It is definitely an experience of a lifetime.

With that being said, we created this Northern Light tour to increase the chances for you to witness Iceland's natural phenomenon. Our guides are experts when it comes to Northern Lights and together with them, we are making a decision each day before 18:00 whether the forecast is good enough for the hunt or not.

Once we are out of the city and away from the light pollution and your guide found a good spot, we will jump out of the car and prepare our cameras. Cozy chairs and blankets are on board to keep you warm while waiting for the lights. Hot chocolate, typical Icelandic liquor (Brennivin), and Icelandic "Kleina" add up to the experience. We want this experience to be as personal as it can be. Of course, your knowledgeable guide can assist you with the camera settings in case you need help. Don't worry if you don't have a camera, we have you covered. Our guide will take professional photos during the tour and we will give you free access to all photos the next day.

In case of non-sightings: If we decide to run the tour, we truly believe there will be visible Northern Lights somewhere at some time during your tour. Our tour plan has been drafted based on a diligent assessment of available data and we will utilize updated information throughout the tour as needed. Our pledge is to make these decisions with our customer's interests in mind only, and we truly take it personally when we fail in this sense. Please note that the current weather and cloud conditions at your place of accommodation are no indicators of how the weather will be at our destination or at other times during the night. We believe this is a testament to our integrity to our customers. In the unfortunate event that we will be unsuccessful in finding visible Northern Lights, the following outlines your rights and steps needed to be taken by you in order to secure these rights:

1. As a participant in a non-sightings Private Northern Lights tour, you are eligible for an unlimited number of re-runs in a small group tour until you have a successful tour with us.
2. To book a free re-run tour, you must do so in writing by sending an email to info@reykjaviktourist.is. It is not enough to ask your guide.
3. Re-run requests obviously have to be serviced subject to availability. We recommend you state which days you are available (if more than one), so we can process your re-run request without delay if your first choice of the day is fully booked. I.e. book you on the second day of choice etc.
4. Re-run bookings are serviced on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Your re-run tour will be with us and will therefore be subject to all the same protocols as your first one. We will go out only if we truly believe there will be visible Northern Lights.
6. Under no circumstances will there be a refund, in full or partial, for a Non-sightings tour regardless of whether or not we could accommodate your request for a free re-run within the period of your stay.
